About Joshua
Joshua Woerner is passionate about the art of transformation. Working in Salons since 2016, since 2018, he is a Los Angeles-based professional hairstylist and makeup designer. Joshua grew up near Hamburg in Germany, where accomplished a 3 years industrial training with a journeyman certificate in hairstyling for men and women. With international work experience having a cosmetologist license in Oklahoma and California, he graduated as a BFA Theatre Production and Design in May 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Josh is aspiring to bring his craft to beauty, fashion, theatre and film productions.
Joshua's expertise spans hairstyling, makeup art, wigs, props, scenic art, and design, blending technical skills with creative vision. His specialties are modern shag variations, mod cuts, mullets, color melting, and balayage. Josh loves telling stories through visuals, whether it's creating impactful stage looks, designing cinematic aesthetics, or shaping characters with hair and makeup. His passion lies in using design to bring narratives to life. With a sharp eye for detail and a deep appreciation for style and aesthetics, Joshua Woerner aims to elevate every project with artistry and precision.
Mission & Accomplishments
Joshua transforms beauty, fashion, theatre and film productions through expert hairstyling, makeup, and design, crafting powerful visual stories with precision and artistry.
He had been working as a hair designer & stylist at the Luxury Salon Mather Hair Design & Cosmetic Studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Josh recently relocated to Los Angeles, CA, crafting creative hairstyles at The Establishment Salon & SouthPaw Salon, enjoying to engage in various other activities in arts and design like:
- Creation and crafting of costumes and props
- Wig crafting & makeup design
- Fashion & Performing Arts
His journey has been filled with learning experiences and milestones:
- A 3 years apprenticeship/industrial training in hairstyling and coloring at Thomas Ernst Hairlounge and Nicolaisen Intercoiffure Hamburg, Germany
- Hairdesign and styling at Fashion Weeks,e.g., the first premiere Vegas Fashion Week®
- Mentoring other students in improving their makeup style
- Volunteering in community outreach programs
